How can I access services?

By phoning The Carers during office hours you will be able to speak to one of our co-coordinators and discuss your needs. If you would prefer you can email your request and our staff will assess your needs and then phone you back to discuss your circumstances.

How much will it cost?

The cost of the service will depend on your specific needs. By phoning The Carers during office hours you will be able to speak to one of our co-coordinators who will discuss with you the range of options available to help you draft a care plan that best suits your needs.

Can I get a healthcare rebate?

At the time of publishing this document there are no healthcare rebates available for the cost of homecare services. However you may qualify for a government program to assist with funding your homecare needs. If you phone The Carers during office hours one of our co-coordinators can assist you in determining if there is a government program that may be available to you.

How are carers selected?

The Carers recruits staff with current qualifications and experience in the community care sector and maintains their skills through regular in-house training courses as well actively encouraging their participation in nationally accredited courses.

Occupational health and safety is of paramount importance to the company and this is promoted to all staff during orientation, staff newsletters and our training program.

Do I need special insurance?

The Carers provides Workers Compensation Insurance cover for all staff. However we recommend that clients provide their own home and contents insurance cover.

Is there a waiting period?

No, generally we can have a carer in place within 24 hours.

Can I change carers once a service has started?

Yes. Customer satisfaction is the primary goal for The Carers. If for any reason you want to change a carer this can be done at no cost to you.
